non-existant

for some odd reason the south african post office website does not work... and this isn't a new thing. i have been trying to get in for a couple of months now to track packages, upon trying to get in this morning it is yet again not loading. i did enquire about this and they shrug their shoulders, but are aware of it as are many other people... the ironic thing is that it says in their slogan on their banner (which i managed to get of google) "conveniently make online payments"! fail

what a chop!

our police of chief has said he hopes that the united states of america gets knocked out early on in the world cup so president barack obama will not come and visit our country...

the article is short, but the comment seems to be have been made in reference to our security being sufficient to have heads of state visit our country without their legions of bodyguards and secret service agents tagging along. it's not that they doubt it (though they should in my opinion), it's simply the way they travel. be it in their own back yard or to deepest darkest africa...

sometimes our 'leaders' need to think before they open they mouths and let words randomly fall out!

delusional

"Judging by the number of people who came to our exhibitions and the comments that we have recorded, I think South Africa did very well. I think the TAC was such a disgrace, a disgrace not only to the department but a disgrace to the whole country. But I think as South Africa we really demonstrated that we're doing pretty well in this regard," she told SABC news.

doff

i find it seriously stupid that a guy who bought a house in a golf estate is complaining about golf balls landing on his property. it's a flippin' house on a golf course, near the fairway! what did he expect? everyone to hit on target, everytime? he's definitely out of luck if i were to play golf...

first three rules of property (i've been told) are: location, location, location.

buy a house on a golf course, expect a few balls to come your way. buy a house near the fairway on said golf course and you're probably going to see a lot more balls come your way. your problem, not the anyone elses...

if i buy a house near the highway and then expect someone to move it because it's too noisy do you think they would?

modus operandi

i have figured it out and i bet everyone else out there has figured out the bots / people who spam your comments... but you can't tell me, just like i can't tell you because then they would change their modus operandi!

i tried blocking ip addresses, insane, because they can chop 'n change them as they see fit. i tried blocking anything with a list a keywords (holdem, poker, etc). but then i got tons of other keywords, i would spend a good 10 - 20 minutes a day updating my files for getting rid of these very unwanted spam comments. it's utter madness!

upon closer inspection of the file i create when one comments on the site, i noticed one thing they all seem to do, it's lame and stupid (yes, you f*^&ing spammers, you're stupid!). i have one way to block and the exact same way to delete anything posted by the scoundrels.

it's heaven, so until they figure out that they're all being stupid, i'm as happy as pig in s*#t!

ps. happy happy birthday damien

that's stoopid!

when some-one mentions pms, you think bad things right? generally speaking ofcourse. bad moods, crazy eating, crazy women... etc.

now why would anyone in right mind get a license plate that reads:
pms 24 7 wp

you're advertising that you're bitch 24 7, why? i just don't get it...

ps. i didn't have my camera on me, but this person stays in the same dorp as me - somewhere. so hopefully one day i'll see ms / mrs pms 24 7 again (and be driving behind her again, hopefully) and i'll have my camera on me!

your bank?

generally speaking banks hire the most stoopid people for their marketing campaigns... just look at those most annoying nedbank ads, the ones where some irritating voice asked "who are those people?". i didn't care, i just wanted to smash the idiots face in who was speaking! plus the ad in the cinema was too long, i made a point of missing the ads / trailers just to avoid having to sit through that stoopid ad... really!

now absa seems to have joined the stoopid ads band wagon, with their "my bank is absa" ad campaign. so a few irritated people (and some with too much time on their hands) went and made spoofs of the ads... some are stoopid, some are also funny...

at work, one of my colleagues came up with this gem:

my bank is ... nedbank
let me know if you have any good ones.

ah, poor mister z, things just got a lot worse...

politics

i've been following the hype around the american elections happening in november. last night was the first round of the debates, which according to most news articles i've read, can either make or break the candidates.

i am happy that kerry faired well.

this morning cnn is on in the background and i'm catching bits and pieces of the re-broadcast. seems like bush is quite uncertain as much as he says he is certain...

on the issue of iran and nuclear weapons (not word for word, just a general break-down of their debate on this issue):

kerry: we must put sanctions on iran
bush: we have put sanctions on iran
kerry: it doesn't help to sanction iran by ourselves. we need to do so within our coalition (ie. france, germany, britain etc.)
bush: it wasn't our administration that put sanctions on iran
dilly-dallying there abit mr president?

for those interested, here are the links to the transcripts of the above mentioned...
Transcript: Are diplomacy, sanctions effective?, followed onto into the next question (they both weren't finished on the issue of iran...). Transcript: Why not send troops to Sudan?

isn't it obvious?

reading cnn.com this morning i stumbled onto a story about the 9/11 commission and the latest release of info...

there is a list of the immigation violations some of the hijackers had yet still managed to be admitted into the states... i draw your attention to point 5:

Each of the 19 submitted a visa application stating that he was not seeking to enter the United States to engage in terrorism.
really? then it wouldn't have been a surprise! i must admit that as much as i would like to think that all terrorists are dumb, they most likely aren't. their distorted view of how their fellow man should live and co-habit in this world of ours is certainly not healthy. then again a war based on wmd's oil isn't healthy either!
