Using dialup connected at 54.6 - Cleared cache. Almost instant with Mozilla. Internet explorer 7 shows graphics quickly but its still 30 seconds downloading all the bits!

jGal: no not at all... i don't know many people who have the time or passion to maintain 2 websites. i was just curious.

regarding the 2 images remaining. i simply don't understand why in ie it hangs on those 2 images. it doesn't happen with my ie. the logo.png image is 20KB and rcorner_bl.png is a mere 297 bytes. when it says those 2 images are still loading, do you see the logo and are all the corners of the boxes there? or are they missing?

(2 items remaining says the message at the statusbar of ie)
logo.png and rcorner_bl.png are taking time to download.

Please remove my blog if you consider this being made in ad purpose.

i should've mentioned this when i had fixed it... i had a script and special styles for the site to look 'good' in internet explorer - while using the lovely rounded png's... i eliminated the script and went completely with the styles that seem to work just fine in internet explorer and still good in mozilla. unless my caching is screwed up completely, i believe the solution has been found! the script was seriously dragging the loading speed of ie browsers down (it took about a minute to load in ie because of the script - something i failed to checked when i loaded the website - naughty me!).

jGal: you have a few of websites or are you linking to interesting blogs?

Nope the pngs are the problem here. Maybe what we have to report is the version of our internet explorer. Maybe the problem isnt the speed but the compilation of the png.

i am using IE version 6.0.28000.1106 with sp1; q833989

What about the rest of the ppl here?

jGal: definitely the background is a big thing, I suspect the rest of the page should be there while that loads though? I'm going to check on a dial-up later today, but the complaint did come from some-one using ADSL...

ADSL 384kBit Telskum line for me too, loads in a couple seconds my side! No complaints.

I have a 384kBit ADSL line and it takes a little time to load.
Not too much but it needs some time.
I think it's the background that's causing it.

Loads fine for me Sarah, 384kbit Telskom ADSL
