it's been raining
winter has clearly been in full swing for the past couple of weeks, it's been raining alot and it's been very flippin' cold. so cold that the dew has turned to ice - on cars, people's lawns etc.
about 2 weeks ago ed and i went to clanwilliam, arriving pretty late on friday evening. awaking on saturday morning i was well surprised to actually see the effect of all the rain we've been having (not record highs but alot more since last winter), see for yourself (and yes, i got up way too early!):
quite a remarkable change, hey?
i am back there this weekend and i'll actually try and stand in the same spot and take a photo of the same spot... ha!

ed took some photo's this w/end when he was there, with the moon hovering over the dam, they look awesome, will post it here sometime this week.
there was no snow in cape town, it's just silly people creating rumours. the photo's of snow on table mountain, circulating the internets right now, are from a few years back. it's a bit chilly early in the morning, but it's not as bad as winter in london, or germany...
are you in cape town around the 13th sept?

wow, look at all that water. I don't think I've ever seen the dam that full, but then I only go in summer time. I heard it was snowing on Table Mountain. You guys must be freezing your arses off in Cape Town. I was in Vancouver, Canada yesterday. It was quite hot. In the evening I took a stroll around Stanley Park. Not a hint of wind. Everything was so warm and calm. While walking back to the ship, a skunk came out of the bushes next to me. It hobbled along for a while and then when back into the flowers. When my friend asked me what that smell was, I blamed it on the skunk.
I will be in London in two weeks time. Yippee!!! Then Cape Town a week later. See you guys then. Hope the weather is all rained out by then.
